SHEEP.

The increase in the number of entries in allthemore popular breeds was very marked, and the quality of Lincolns, Shropshires and Romney Marsh excited general comment and admiration. The Leicesters from the Woodlands Estate were a nice lot, and the lot of Hampshire shewn, though few in quantity, were of first-class quality. The Southdowns were few in number and of secondary quality, no award being made in class 154 and only a second for the pen of three ewes. Fat sheep showed a slight falling off in style, and in one or two of the classes under this head there was a falling off in the number of entries. SOUTHDOWNS. Judge : Mr James Stuckey, Opaki.
