PRESIDENT MORAES ATTACKED.
A GENERAL STABBED TO DEATH.
RIO DE JANEIRO, November 6.
A soldier made a determined effort to shoot Dr. Prudente Jose de Moraes, the President of the Republic of Brazil, at Rio, but was frustrated by the bystanders. Colonel Moraes was slightly wounded in disarming the * would-be assassin.
RIO DE JANEIRO, November 7.
While disarming the assailant of President Moraes General Bernard Vastjuez, Minister for War, was stabbed to death.
