The children's flower show was "brought to a successful conclusion on Saturday night. Special praise is due to Mesdames McKean and Thornes and Mr Thornes for the way they worked to make the show a success. In the champion class for lilium K. Churton was awarded third prize, a special was awarded Lily Ince for palm lfly, and a third prize to Eva Thompson for native basket. In the bouquet competition for the various standards a special prize was aAvarded Jessie Stimpson (Wellesleystreet School) for exhibits of scholars of Standards V.; and a similar award was made to Louie Fernandez (Gratton Road).
