TO-MORROW'S HOLIDAY.

To-morrow, being the Prince of Wales' birthday, will be observed as a close holiday. A number of excursions and other holiday attractions are announced. - The second day's races of the Spring Meeting at Ellerslie will no doubt attract many Aucklanders. The Royal New Zealand Fencibles and their descendants will celebrate to-morrow the jubilee of their landing at Howick in 1547. A sports programme has been arranged for the day, besides a dinner in the Oddfellows' Hall in the afternoon and a ball in the evening. A 'bus will leave the City Hall corner for Howick at 9 a.m. to-morrow. An interesting gala programme is provided for to-morrow in the Domain, in honour of fche Band of Hope Jubilee, including an apen air action song entertainment and tneeting and music and amusement for old md young. Hot water will be provided, md weather permitting, an enjoyable day nay be spent by the sympathisers with the movement. In case of a wet morning, the programme will be given in the Choral Sail at 2.30 p.m. The Northern Steamship Company announce various excursion trips to' Coromanclel, Waiwera, Waiheke, and the Great Barrier, particulars of which are advertised. The lona leaves to-night on a trip to the Great Barrier, returning to-morrow night. The "s. s.' Rose Casey will run to Mahurangi Heads, ands.s. Weka from Oriehunga to Huia and South Manukau Head, and the s.s/ Vivid for Riverhead. The s.s. Muritai will leave here at midnight tonight and also to-morrow for Coromandel to convey visitors to the Foresters' Sports there. The Devonport Ferry Company announce excursions to Pine island, Lake Takaputia, " St. Helier's Bay, Baiigitoto, and to Mofcutapu and fishing grounds. The p.s. Osprey will run throughout the day to ilangitoto, the last steamer returning at 5"30 p.mv The s.s.- Kia Ora will run an excursion to Putiki Bay, Waiheke Island. The friends ■of the Pitt-street Wesleyan Sunday-school are- reminded that on account of the tide the s.s. Eagle for Motuihi to-morrow must leave at 8 a.m.
