In order that tliese crude oils may not be taken for our Pnra Volatile Eucalypti Extract, which hi recognised by the medical division of the Pniaidnn Government to bo. of perfectly pure origin, an per information forwarded to us through tho Conaul at Melbourne, March 2. 1878, we state :—" It is prorod by tests made by tho Medical Clinics of tho Univer/dtien at Hoau and (iriefswald. Prussia, and reported by r>r. Bchula. Professor of Pharmacology at Bonn, and Profrasor Dr. Mnsler, Director oJ the Medical Clinic at Griefswald, that only products that ore saturated with oxygen and free of acids, rCNinoos and other substances, adherent to primary distillation, Trill develop tho sanative qualities proper to the plant. All crude oil, or so-called Eucalypti Extracts, are to be classed according to the named authorities among the turpcntinwi which are of insignificant medicinal value and abandoned long since as an internal medicament. These crude oils, or so-oailed Eucalypti Extract*, are discernible— 1. By their deficiency in pungent odour, which ©nr product, the only genuine Eucalypti Extract, develops moetfreeljr through its surplus of oxygen. 2.
