MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.

Goldstream (Wharekeraupunga). —The drive is now in 158 feet; the country being penetrated is very firm and of a quartzy nature. During the last fortnight several small stringers and silica seams have been cut.

Hauraki North.—Good progress is being made in the western drive No. 2 level. The reef formation is about three feet wide, pug still forming the largest proportion. No gold has been seen here for the last week. In the rise the reef measures four feet with a considerable admixture of pug. Gold has been seen all the way up the 43 feet risen, but the reef is of lower grade than it is in the level. The stopes also show gold all along, of similar grade, but so far no rich deposit has been met with and the crushing up to the present is not equal to the last. A rich patch may, however, be met with at any tune. Preparations are being made to receive the additional crusher.

Renown. —About 800 feet of driving and 500 feet of trenching have been done on this mine. The reef in the drive is from 30 to 40 feet in thickness. The assay value of the lode is from 3s to 7s per ton. The work done has proved beyond doubt that the loose rich ore formerly discovered on the surface could not possibly have come from or about the hill on which it was found.

lvanhoe.—The low level crosscut is in 480 feet, which is 50 feet past the true strike of the reef. Eighteen feet has also been driven from the end of the crosscut, but finding no indications of the reef in that direction work was stopped. Driving has now commenced on a cross course on the west side of the main drive at a point 35ft back from the end of the crosscut, as this may have thrown the reef out of its proper course. Waihi El-Dorado.—Manager's report for the month ending 31st October: Since starting work again on the 20th ultimo, the work done is as follows : 7 feet has been driven in No, 2 drive, three feet on foot wall of No. 1 drive, and seventeen feet on crosscut going east, making length of crosscut 83 feet in all. The quartz in the face at present is much better than any we have had since starting the crosscut, and with the directors' permission I would like to have some of the ore assayed.
