OCEAN MAILS.
'FRISCO V. VANCOUVER.
A BID FOR AUCKLAND VOTES.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.!
WELLINGTON, this day.
A leading Auckland member received a cable message from a London lirru—l am forbidden to mention the name but surmise it,,,is-Huddart—asking if the Auckland members will as a body support the Vancouver mail service on condition that Auckland is made the port of call instead of Wellington. A reply lias been sent that the Auckland members are in favour of the 'Frisco service, which has served the colony well. My informant adds that the Auckland representatives fear that if they gave united support to the Hnddart-Parker .service the port of call might be changed to "Wellington again m a year ur two.
