MOUNT LYELL COMPANY.
During the period from September 23rd to October 20th the Mount, Lyell Mining and Railway Company, Tasmania, treated 10 440 tons of ore of which 9,573 were from the open face and 867 from No. 4 tunnel. The average assay value of the ore betore treatment was :—Open face: Copper, 17 per cent. ; silver 2-16oz per ton y. gold, 1670z per ton. No. 4 tunnel: Copper, 7-61 percent. ; silver, B'94ozperton ; gold, 184oz per ton. The converters have produced during the same period 375 tons ot blister containing copper; silver, 24,4240z ; gold 1,6410z. The output from the converters is short owing to time being lost by the stoppage and repairing of the boilers.
