WRECK.
MELBOURNE, this day,
A schooner arrived from Maiden Island bringing the second officer and seven of the crew of the American ship Commodore, which, while on the voyage from Honolulu to New York with a cargo of sugar, went ashore on September 3rd on a reef off Maiden Island and became a total wreck. The captain (Leavis),_ his wife, and a number of the crew remained on the island awaiting the arrival of a steamer to convey them to New Zealand.
