CURRENCY CONVENTION.
New York, October 23.
The American proposals in connection with the International Currency Convention included the re-opening oMhe Indian mints, the stoppage of the tender of sovereigns in India, fixing of the legal tender limit of silver at £10, the issue of twenty and ten shilling notes on a silver basis, and the retirement of half sovereigns.
France urged the re-opening of all mints for free coinage, Great Britain to be pledged to purchase ten million worth or silver annually.
