THE FRENCH IN AFRICA.
PARIS, October 23.
M. Clockett, leader of the FrenchAbyssinian expedition in the Upper Nile, has been killed by a kick from a mule. It is stated the expedition intended to seize the town of Fashoda, on the left bank of Bahrelabiad, in English Soudan.
