PAEROA, this day
A largely-signed petition from the residents of Karangahake was presented by Mr Miller to Mr Warden Bush protesting against the proposal made by the County Council to close a road leading from the main road nearly opposite Kelly's Hotel to the river. The road was considered of no value, and it was proposed to close it and use the ground for a site for a Police Station. The residents strongly protested against this, and the Warden agreed to forward the document on to Wellington to the Minister of Mines.
