Drunkenness. —Two first offenders were convicted and discharged.—Annie Robertson was fined 10s, or 48 hours.
Alleged Theft.—A man named Henry St. George Sloan, charged with stealing a quantity of carpenters' tools valued at £3 6s, was remanded for eight days. Order Cancelled.—An order for 4s a week issued in 1890 against one Bernard O'Hara, for the support of his children in the St. Mary's Industrial School, was cancelled on the application of the police, who stated that the defendant was unable to pay the amount.
Destitute Persons Act. —A case against Alexander Clune, charged with failing to comply with an order for the support oi his father, was adjourned for a week, to enable the defendant to come up from Kuaotunu to give evidence. Mr Parr appeared for the defence in this case.—Wilfred Auckram made application to vary an order of 7s Gd a week, made by consent against him in June last for the support of his illegitimate child. The applicant, for whom Mr Eattley appeared, pleaded inability to pay the full amount. Mr Napier on behalf of the child's mother opposed the application. Ultimately the case was adjourned for a week, the applicant expressing his willingness to adopt the child.—William Green was charged with failing to comply with an order. His Worship after hearing evidence adjourned the case for four weeks, and said he would take into consideration the wiping ofYof the arreas, if the defendant paid regularly in the future.—A case against Elizabeth Paul, charged with failing to support her grandchildren, was adjourned for 14 days,
