CHIEFS.
CALCUATTA, September 5
General Loekhart has embarked at Brindisi, and is expected to arrive at Bombay on the ISth inst. He will reach the front about the time the expedition against the Afridis is ready to start.
Native chiefs in all'parts of India have offered the services of their troops to aid in the efforts being made by the Indian Government to quell the revolt of tribesmen.
The Viceroy of India accepted the services of four infantry battalions, two companies of sappers from the Ptmjatib. He also accepted oilers of transport trains from the Maharajahs of Gwaiior and Jaipur.
