UNDEFENDED CASE.
Judgment waa given for piaintiff in fhe following undefended case : — Petar Oliphant v. Fritz Tiiaman, £13, coats £1.
DEFENDED CASES
Thos. F. Cahill v. John Robinson. — Claim, £15 10s, being monay lent at interest by plaintiff to defendant. There was also a counter claim for £25, for sxponaea incurred by defendant in prospecting and other work dona ia connection with a mining claim ab Whangarei, ia which he and plaintiff each had one-third interest.— The cana was adjourned from the previous day, and on the application of Mr Burton waa further adjourned till the 9th inst, James Matthews t. Geo. Lobam.— Claim le ' medicai expenses incurred by plaintilt, in consequence of an assault alleged to have been committeed by defendant.—The case was heard oa Ist iriab,, the remainder °J ™8 evidence being taken to-day.—Mr Mahony appeared for plaintiff, and lit Cotter for the defendant. Both parfciea brought whab seemed to be conclusive evidence, on the ona side that the assault had been committed by defendant, and on the other side that the defendant bad never laid a hand on the plaintiff. Th» case was finally adjourned, after all tha evidence bad been cakan, to enable tfaa Magistrate to visib the epot where the assault waa alleged to have bean committed. —His Worship remarked tbas it was an extraordinary case, and one which must) involve perjury on one aida or tha osher. Ha would give judgment on Monday next
