THE LA MASCOTTE SPECIAL CLAIM FORFEITED.

Sir,-—Owing to many inquiries being made by shareholders of bho La Mascotbe Goldmining Company (no liability) re tho forfeiture of bho above special claim, and which appeared under the handing *' Warden's Courb, Paeroa," in the Star of 31sb March, I beg to state for the information of those interested in tho Company : (1) That the La Mascobte G.M. Company have now one of bhe *mosb valuable auriferous areas of aboub -100 acres situated in the Wharekeraupunga district ; here we have a reef 40fb wide, gold bearing, and the Company is st work pubfcing in an adib level bo inborsecb the main lode in the Dublin portion of the area. Altogether, aboub 900 feeb of driving has been dono. (2) The forfeited area above referred to is bho abandoned piece of ground which tho Company surrendered to Her Majesty in tho proper form before tho sitting of the Warden's Court, and should nob have been dealt with in bhe Warden's Courb aßa forfeiture, when in realiby the terms used and required by law in the case of the title handed back is " surrendered to, etc., etc." Thanking you to insert this brief explanation, I am, etc , A.
