We aro informed thab owing to the Parnell Borough Council refusing to allow explosives to be conveyed to the magazine ab Mounb Eden via Sb. George's Bay Road, after much vexation in various directions a modtcs operandi has ab lengbh been discovered, only, however, as a temporary expedient. Ib has been discovered thab no bye - law exists preventing explosives being conveyed via Mechanics Bay, and it is understood thab fche Auckland" City Council and Harbour Board will nob raise any objections, pending further and definite arrangements, bo the landing and conveyance of explosives via Mechanics Bay. provided it is done under supervision of police. This is to meet the present urgent case of arrival oE explosives por s.s. Mamari. No doubb more suibable arrangements will soon be made. Moanfcimo the mabber was urgenb.
