ACTION FOR DAMAGES
(BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION).
Hokitika, Tuesday. The Coal Company's case was continued to-day, when only two wibnessee were examined, namely, Tennanb,''formerly employed aB fireman in bhe mine, whose examination lasted over four hours, and Kooneyj-tformerly a 'ffiincrr' Ab present there are three theories for the explosion as pub forbh by the witnesses : (1) A burst of gas from a fall in tho river; (2) an explosion of coal dust from a blown oub shot; and (3) an explosion of coal duet from a small gas explosion. The claims received at present amounb to £28,000. There are no presenb indications of an early finish of the case.
