A commencemenb has been made to clean lap and repair the crosscub leading from the big pump shaft to No. 4 lovel of the Caledonian shaft. Stoping upon Darby's and tbe cross reefs and upon the latter wesb of this point continues bo produce a good supply of crushing material. The battery is running steadily on ore won from bhe source referred to, and a payable result is anticipated.
