The half-yearly meeting of the Sterling G.M..Company this morning lapsed. The balance-sheet showed a credit at bank on February 28th of £110 lis sd. BOAT HARBOUR. The Chairman, Mr Waymouth, explained thab the objecb of bhe meeting waß to authorise directors to purchase forieited shares in the Company when sold by auction, provided that the price already offered was not equal to the amounb of the call. Resolutions giving bhis power were accordingly adopted. PROGRESS CASTLE ROCK. The half yearly meeting of bhe Progress Castle Rock Goldmining Company was beld bhis morning at the Company's oflice, Legal Chambers, Queen-street. Colonel Burbon (chairman of directors), presided. The directors reporb stated that several members of bhe Board bad visited tbe mine lately and were highly satisfied with all they had seen and bhey felb convinced that the shareholders possessed a valuable property. There was no difficulty in bhe treatment of the ore, and the directors had nnder consideration the advisability of erecting a battery. The mine was so well opened up bhab a large number of men could be continually employed on payable ore. The balance-sheet showed a credit on 28bh Fo&uoi'^.f^lOSls Bd. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet the Chairman said the property had not been offered in London owing to the bad state of the market, bub directors must face the question of erecting a battery or placing bhe property on the London markeb. Mr J. Friar Clarke seconded. The reporb and balance-sheet was adopted. The Chairman said that he was glad to see so many presenb as ib showed tbe interest taken in the nine.
