DEVONPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting of the Dovonport Borough Council was held last evening,, the Mayor (Mr J. C. Mucky) presiding.
Half-holiday.— The Council fixed Weduesday as the day on which to observe the weekly half-holiday.
Metal. —Mr H. M. Wilson applied on behalf of the Waitematft Cbunty Council to take scoria for the main road to the Lake from the Council's quarry at Devonport.—lb wai resolved, " That the VVaiteruata County Council bo allowed to remove what mebal they required in equal proportions from Church-atreeb pit and Vauzhall Road under tho supervision of the Foreman of VVorke, royalty to bo at the rate of 6d per yard."
Cheltenham Bkach.—Mr H. K. Ho veil, 'surveyor, wrote drawing attention to the boundaries on Cheltenham Beach and the encroachments on the Council's property.—
Ib was resolved: "Thati the Council's solicitor bo instructed to apply to the Government for a title to the land on the forashore in front of locs 2, 3 and 4 aa shown on the Council's land transfer title." The surveyor to the Council (Mr Boylan) was instructed to report to the next mooting if the owner of lob 5, Cheltenham Beach, had encroached on the Council's property, and if so, how far.
Recreation Reserve.—lt was resolved to apply for the title of the land on oach side of the road leading to Stanley i'oinS from the boundary of the road to highwater mark, the laud to be reserved by the Council for recreation purposes.
