(To the Editor.) g IB -i_Wby do aome goldmining cotapanleg eive longer time for paying calls thoo scms others. I see in your iasue of January 16, the call in the Chelt was due 12th Aujjuat, 1896 and the sale of the forieitcd share* »■ ftdve'rti.ed for Jabuary 19th iast. In Youn ff New Zealand the call became due, as ape nears in advertisement, on October 14 last, and the sale of forfeited shares is advertised for I9*h January inst. In the Coneervative the call, apparently, became dua on November IHb, aud the sale of forfeited chares is advertised for Tuesday, January 19i,h insC. In the Huanui, Princeoe Majjand Oceania the call payment day is tb» same, but in the Asteroid the call paymeni day seem?, according to the advertisement, to be December 9eh, and in the Matawai November llch. yot the advertued day of aale of forfeited chares in the two latter concerns is tho same, namely, January 25, and the management thereof is the same. Should there not be uniformity in thin matter of paying calls. Why should a larger tether be allowed in one company than in another ?—I am, etc., iNQumia.
