MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.

European.—As the courso of No. 3 drive was north instead of west, as ab bhe start, the men were eeb to follow the reef from the craok level into a high spur, which will prove ira course and the dip of the lode, which i» improving. Cadman.—The Cadman lode has been cub in the crosscut and proves to be a splendid body of gold-bearing quartz, Ift thick, lOin being eood, heavily-mineralised blue quartz with 2in of a rubble seam lying on it. Coarse gold ia aeon when breaking down.

Pride of Hauraki.—The lower level is in 80it, and the country still continues of a gbod class. The drive on the hangingwall portion of McDonald's reef ha* been further extended 4ft lor tbe week. I have also cut through to the footwall portion of thia reef, which is fully 10ft bhick, and from which a lit.t!. loose gold was gob by washing.

Bendigo.—Tho country in the low level crtiH-'Cut is easier, and still well mineralised. A loader four inches thick haw beon cut, ca.rying good mineral. Another 50 feet of driving should intersect bho large reef. Splendid mineral is being met with in the quartz that ia being broken but from No. 3 reef, which ia about bhree f«eb thick.

Obion (Puru),—Thereof ha 3 been opened out on for 20 feet, and shows colours of gold. lolanthi.. —No. 1 reef is a fine body of atone, 'carrying a large proportion of iron pyrites and manganese. In tbe floor ot tho drive is quartz about two feet wile. Plenty of quartz is to bs got on the surface. A new leader, about four to six inches, has teen cut, and is looking well.

Diadem.—ln the crosscut to intersect No. 3, the wall previously mentioned provi a to be a leader six inches wide, full of very bright mineral. No. 8 lode has become very much split up; each partido carries gold. MAORI Dream.—No. 1 reef is very much gphti up; the portions saved aro set aside for the mill. The same remark applies to No. 2in tho north end. The south end is a nice compact body cf scone four feet wide, worth not loss than £3 per ton. A very greaS change for the better has set in in the crosscut to intersect the old Maori Dream reef.

Kukanui-CaleuoniaN.—Work is still confined to driving the crosscut at No. 1 level and stoping en Darby' 3 and tho cross reef; There is a slight improvement on the lode in the stopes on Darby's ; east the load is one foot thick, and colours of gold are trequontly seen in the quartz ; westward tha reef ia not so well defined, being ...mpo-eri of sovoral ribs of quartz, which taken as a whole will average 15in in thickness. Hold jhas beon freely seen hero during the week and a few pounds of picked fctone obtained.

Four in-Hakd.—The low level crosscut is ia 151 ft. Th*. country has numerous mineral -earns of a first claas description ter gold.

Scandinavian (Thames). -Work ia still confined to stoping on No. 3 leader. Golden OppoßTUNmr.-Tbe men are now trenching upon the new reef. The reel in the firsb trench is broken upon the aurtaoe, but good prospect with tho dish can be gon. In order to find bhe reef upon a lower level we have started to open up a trench on each side of the hill. . . EAGLEHAWic-Good headway is being made in driving on the No. 2 reef, which baa opened out to a fine body of quartz fully five feet wide. The quartz is highly mineralised and is of the righb kind for Lily.—The eirive i* in 90 feet through solid country, composed of purplish sandstone. ™ „,, UoKONET.-The drive" is in 9.> ft. -be reef is ab present well defined and 3tb wide. The leader recenbly discovered shows colours of gold ireely in the -bone. Orlando.— The new reef is ab present composed of clay and gritby quartz and ia very irregular in sizs. In the leading stope the reef maintains its size and a little gold is Been each breaking.down. Hauraki No. 2.—Tbe crosscut ia in s_!ft from tho shaft. In the bottom of the drive a decided improvemenb has taken place in the country, and better progress should now be made.

Gladys.— The lode in the winze is a compact body of stone 3ft yvide, encased in an excellent class of sandstone. The winze has been sunk 6fb this week and thoroughly timbered up. Ib carries traces of gold in tho hangingwall, bub is not payable as yet. Marco Polo.—A crosscut is being put in close to the Northern boundary, with bhe intontion of cutting and testing the Goldwater reef. This drive is now in 60ft. The class of country the whole distance has been of an excellent description ; but has been rather tight for very speedy progress, especially as it has been timbered, owing to the ground being blocky and water percolating down the heads. A further distance of 30ft- or 40ft will have to be driven before the reef is to hand. A little prospecting has been done on the Boubh-weßb portion of the ground, with the result of the discovery of a reef 2ft through.
