RE WATER SUPPLY FOR AUCKLAND.

Sir,—l ahould like to draw the attention of those interested on this subject, that if the Nihotapu stream is selected for the supply of Auckland, that the head of the liuia river is within about one mile of the head of the Nihotapu, and that tbe volume of water flowing down the Huia River is* by far the larger of the two, and could be connected when required in addition to the Nihotapu.—l am. etc., E.
