THE LADY ST. AUBYN—A PERILOUS VOYAGE.

Further particulars are to hand from Melbourne of tbe voyage of the French schooner Lady St. Aubyn, which put into Port Phillip on the 9_h inst. while on her way from Kaipara to Fremantle. The *-- Age " says: Three days after her departure from Kaipara it was found that the vessel was making water Blightly. The influx, however, was nob so greab as to cause alarm. The captain decided to continue his voyage, and nothing serious occurred until the vessel approached the Australian coast. Then she fell in with the full fury of tho southerly gales. Under these adverse conditions the vessel laboured and strained heavily, and the inflow or water increased so considerably that tbe captain deemed it advisable to run his ship into Porb Phillip. Meanwhile tho pumps were kept constantly ab work, but notwithstanding all exertions the water in the ship's well continued to deepen, and when finally Bhe reached tbe anchorage she held five feeb of water. The Lady St. Aabyn is only 150 tons register, and with this amount of water in her it would cer tainly have been unsafe for the vessel to have proceeded further on the voyage. Repairs will be effected here before the schooner resumes her voyage.
