THERE can be no doab* even in the mind* Ol peee'soiats that things in Kuaotunu are brightening, not only in mining bub also in buaine.e. Additions to buildings and dwellings, town hall, new post offico, etc., prove the confidence people have in tbe future of the field. Mr Meikle, junction storekeeper, bas bad a large addition to his store which was necessary owing to the increase of work. It is no unusual thing to sea seven or eighb pack horses going from bis .store., twice daily to Murphy's Hill, Matarangi, Opitinui and Owera. The •amo can be said of other storekeepers. Two scows arrived tbis morning with timber from Auckland, bringing aleo six carpenters. This timber is, I underatand, for the erection of the public hall and post office. The We.leyau Church and addition to school bonne (the present building being inadequate for the large number of children attending) is at a standstill awaiting arrival of timber.
