Hamilton,, this day. The Waikato County Council met afc Hamilton East yesterday. Crs. Gordon and Bailey were empowered to execute necessary repairs to the Mangowhara Bridge. The do* tax was fixed the same as lasb year, 2. 6d for sheep and cattle does and _a all others. A slaughter See waa granted to Thomas Shaw of Hamilton, on condition that be complied with all.the regulations. The Inspector of Slaughterhouses was aiked to forward roturnß of cattle slanghbered every two months. Constable Bobaoa. wae^appointed Dog Registrar for the Mercer district. The Council considered a propoea pub forth by W. A. Grabam for the establishment of the beet V-dasbry an impossible and unworkable one, but stated they wew anxious to have tha industry started. Cr. Gordon reported that the Komokorau bridgework would be completed by next meeting ana the con ..actors' time was extended two months. Cr. Mcßae Baid he had arranged to have necessary repairs done at Mercer bridge, and he and Cr. Bailey had accepted Patbigrew's tender, £20 10a, for work ab Jeffrey's Bridge, Riding balances stand as follows :-Dr..; Whaneamarino, £3 Us Id; Tamahere, £10 12a 3d ; model farm acconnt, £207 3s 2d. Credit: Bnnbly, £65 7s 6d ; Cambridge, ±60 12s 7d ; Kirikiroa, £42 2a 7d; balance dr., £53 6s Bd. Accpunbs amounting bo aboub £90 were pasaed for payment.
