THE DARRELL SEASON.
«• The Queen of Coolgardie," the opening play of the Darrell season tonight, from what we learn by English and Australian exchanges, is nob only a sensational spectacular production,, but io replete with human interest. The varied passions of humanity are illustrated by a master hand, every note in the scale being touched, from the grave to the pathetic, while running through the serious harmonies of the story is' a vein of * rich •' humour that relieves the more sombre passages. The dramatic personages range from the drawing-room in the fashionable quarter of Melbourne at the time of the great land boom, to tho stalwart miner and reckless adventurer on the great golden rush at Coolgardie. The plot is described as intensely-absorbing and the situations , and tableaux in the highest, degree picturesque and effective. With a strong cast, new scenery nnd properties and first-class stage management by Mr Darrell, under whose personal supervision tho production haa been staged, tbe "Queen of Coolgardie" should prove a brillianb opening to a prosperous season.
