SLY-GROG SELLING.
A HEAVY FINE

Dunedin, this day. At Balclufcha yesterday John Anderson waa lined £70 and costs for sly grog sailing. Commenting at Balciutha on the position of affairs regarding the licensing question in Clutha Mr Hawkins, S.M., said thab although the poll recently taken had reversed the prohibition vote previously carried ho wa3 of opinion thab until tho Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act is amended, no additional licenses can be granted. Therefore he warned persons against selling without licenses, and intimated that he intended, to inflict severe penalties, as before.
