A meeting of shareholders in the Sbar of Waihi G.M. Company was held ab the offices of Mr J. Hunter Harrison this morning. Mr M. Niccol presided. On bhe motion of the Chairman, ib was decided to give the directors power to acquire additional area, and tbey were aubhoiised to offer 10,080 shares to effect this.

OHUI DISTRICT.

The manager of the Ohui Goldmining Company, ab Tairua, telegraphed to-day that he was getting gold in the tunnel, and would send'up some of the stone. Thi3 news is of importance, as there are large ore bodies on the ground which can be easily worked. The Ohui mine is near the Nil De3perandum and Roseberry properties. Apparently the Tairua district is going to receive attention from English experts, as Mr Jonathan Seaver has eecured the option of bwo large blocks of mining properties—No. 1 block xbmprisihg the. Esmeralda, Nit" Desporandum No. 2, Nil Desperandum Exbended, the Wakamarino, Eaglehawk?, a solid block of 217J acres; while No. 2 block comprises the Ngatapa, the Manaia, the Wakatu, tho Egmonb, the Maoriland, th« Daisy, the Clontarf, and the Monb DOr,

also a compact block of 236J acres, together with water-rights on the Manaia, Faritu, and Tawatawa Creeka.

CAROLINE

This special claim is being placed on the local market by Meisrs F. Hull and Co; lb consists of 100 acres of native land in the Manaia district, about five miles from the Golden Hill Company's property. Four reeis have already been discovered on this claim, ono 11 feet in width, another 16 feet, and Wo from 3to i feeb in width. The average assay value of the ore is about £4 2s, which with euch large reefs will pay handsomely. Oa the property is splendid water power, and also an ample supply of timber. The shares are offered at £25 each.

RISING SUN AND INGLEWOOD,

Mr G. C. W. Moriis, legal manager of these amalgamated companies, received a cablo to-duy from Mr H. Alan Scott, of Chrißtchurcb, who is now in London, and who has the flotation of these companies in hand. Mr Scott advices Mr Morris that he has arranged the flotation with a powerful syndicate, subject to inspection. The directors will be called together to consider the amended terms, which, by bhe way, provide for £1,000 cash, a considerable portion of paid up shares, and £25,009 working capital. The Rißing Sun, which is under protection, has been on gold since ib, was pepged out, and the assays have gone from £3 or £4 up to £30,'' the avorage being first-class. The properties adjoin the Oirharoa G.M. Company property.
