PANDORA, The manager of tho Pandora claim ab Ovvharoa, on which operations have just been commended, informs me one of the men, whilst engaged cutting a brack to the smithy now being erected, cub a stringer on bhe aide of the hillwhich shows strong dabs of gold in every piece of Btone broken oub. He is sending a sample Of bhe stone to Auckland. The Company are lucky in thus early striking the precious metal, aa, although two reefs are stioking oub of bhe face of a cliff, the presence of gold is nob ofben thus early determined.
STANLEY,
Messrs Driseldorf and Bell on Monday viaited the Stanley mine ab Karangahake and were ahown over the ground and workings by Mr White. Tho low level drive ab bho Waibawheta level la in 340 ft following the course of the lode, and the reef has now assumed a more compact and defined appearance, whilst a considerable flow of water is coming from the face. The level being put in by Mr Stackpole to cut the Wheel of Fortune leader is now making better headway though the ground is still hard.
