The'drive is stillgbing through" tight)BboGbing ground, bub easier country appears to be rising from the floor. The south drive has been extended 6tt during the fortnight,, the reet varying from 18in to 2ft 6in in width. Ttve drive on No. 5 reef is in sft, a reef composed of nice kindly quartz 2ft in width showing in the face. Golden Giant.—This week the crosgcub drive has been extended a further distance of ten feet, which makeß a total distance of 20 feet. Have cub reef bo-day. The course of reef is about eabb and west and dipping to the north. The quartz is of a flinty nature at present. Mount Aurum.— The drive is passing through good country. Napier.—Fair prospects hare been got from the loader ab the back of the drive. ■
Grkat United.—The No. 2 crosscut is in 93ft and passing through favourable sandstone.
Britannia.—The shaft ia down 181fb,
Golden Tokatea.—Assays of stone from this mine gave returns ab the rate of £7 6b 3d and £1 Is 8d per ton. Pukewhau. —Bannermann's reef is still pinched at presenb. In No. 3 stope the reef is coming together again, and the country is full of mineral. When breaking down the reef in the rise gold waß showing protty freely through the stone. The reef is one foob thick ab present. Prospect.—The level is passing through good sandstone country, in which are small veins, all of which carry a little gold. A little gold is seen in the winze.
Gladys.—The eaine marked. improvement continues in the winze. The lode is aboub one foob wide. The ore is being savod for treatment. Although the footwall on the leader continues to cany the same course and firm description, .the leader has hot improved. I hope ifc will do so aa I drive south on ib.
' Buffalo.—Afc the low.level the quartz is improving in appearance. The rise ia up 45ft. In tjie bftck~ there are two leaden' both"looking well.
Golden Anchor.—Tho low level cross cub is etijl in hard sandstone country.
MNYigxA North-— The crosscut ia in ?5 feet. ; .
Invicta.—The reef in the low level is split up at present, bub ia in very good country.
Noben'A.—A crosscut has been-startcd to intersect! the reef. .
