A Company was formed ab the office of Mr Vym. Elliot, Bank of New Zealand Buildings, this morning to work the Herald special claim at) Whangamata. Colonel Burton presided at the meeting. It was decided to form a no-liability Company to be called the Herald Goldrainxng Company, with a capital of £8,000 in 80,000 shares of 2s each nil paid up. The following gentlemen were elected the first directors of fcbe Company : — Colonel Burton, Messrs Vf. S. Wilson, J. R. Gray, John Owen, Joseph Tbornea, C. A. Clarke (Tauranga), and J. H. M. Carpenter. Appointments were made ac follows: Legal manager, Mr VVm. Elliot (salary 30s per week? with transfer fees); auditor, Mr F. L.
