Napieb, Thursday. : News was received thii evening of a mosk distressing accident, which has coeti the life of Mr James Laweon, district engineer on the Napier-Taranaki section of the railway. - " .

The force of tha blow knocked him off; tha train into the river below. Two. men engaged' effecting repairs to the bridge saw the body falling and jumped into tba river.
