THE NEWCASTLE STRIKE.
Sydney, May 10.
Thirty miners of tbe Gartlee colliery have resumed work on terms equivalent to 3s 6d per ton. There is a feeling growing that the strikers will shortly resume work despite the association. A number of masters ret'usetopay back pay on theground that the men left in a body and did not give individual notice. A test will probably be taken to try the legality of this step.
