Drunkenness.—For bhis offence Mary Ann Smith was fined 5», Paul C. Purcha 8 10s and Alfred Ashenden 10s.

Police Offences Act,—Four boys named Andrew Somerville (16), Robert Chappell (18), John James Chappell (16) and Alfred Chappell (14) were charged with having been found by night without lawful excuse in the Jewish Cemetery.— Sergeant McMahon explained that accused wore found in the cemetery Bleeping under a tree lust night between eleven arid twelve Ono accused said thoy went into the cemetery to get mushrooms, and when there thoughb they would sleep under a tree till daylight.—Tho Bench questioned accused as to where they bad been working, and bhe answers.baiug favourable bhe boy a were dismissed with a caution.

Threatening Language. — Gilberb Bradley pleaded guilty bo having used threatening language towards Harriet Bradloy.—Accused expressed his regreb ab what be bad done and attributed it to the liquor.—The case was adjourned for one month.

Alleged ll.treatment. —A coloured man, named Edward William Rolins, who is better known aa " Starlight," a professor of boxing, waa charged with thab he did on bbc 7th of May unlawfully ill-breab Edward Alfred Rolins, hia son, aged eighb, by beating him excessively and by kicking him and throwing- him violently againsb tbo wall of a room. Mr Tierney, J.P., presided. In reply to the Bench, Constable Hutchison stated thab the charge was a very serious one. According to tho doctors certificate, the boy's injuries wero pretty severe. He would ask lor an adjournment till Wednesday.—Accused (who pleaded nob guilty), waa remanded till Wednesday on bail of one surety of £50.
