Sterling.—l am still driving the crosscut ahead and continuing to cub ribs of quartz varying in width from a few inches to 10 inches, in which I can get prospects of gold. This afternoon I. tapped quartz in the bottom of the drive, and am pushing forward the level in order to asserbain its thickness and value. Owing bo the fact thab I have not cut through thereof formatioo, I think it better to push forward the crosscut until the true.country rock is met. I had a visit from Messrs Pascoe and Meyers during the week, and after breaking and testing numerous samples from the reef, expressed themselves as pleased with the prospects obtained. Mr Pascoe broke several of the samples himaelf from bhe reef, in all of which ho obtained excellent) results. He also carried away a general sample broken from aboub lOfb in width for assay. An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of tho Golden Fleece G.M. Co. waa held yesterday afternoon at) the .office of Mr W. Clarke, New Zealand Insurance Buildings. There waa a large attendance, Mr W. Read Bloomfield; occupied bhe. chair. He explainod ib was propotod to amalgamate the Golden Fleece and Talisman South properties. A rosolution was passed thab the capital of the company be increased to £15,000. by the creation of 30,000 new sharea of 5s each. A further resolution was passed authorising and empowering the directors of the company to acquire by purchase tho mining property known as" the Talisman South licensed holding. Mr'Ji.G. Ralph said the Talisman South property would be a greab acquisition to the Golden Fleece Company. Mr Myers and his experb visited the properties the other day, and he believed they wero pleased with what they saw. RISING SUN INGLE WOOD. The plans and requisite documenbs have been despatched to London bo Mr Alan Scoth, of Midland Railway fame, who has undertaken to floab these combined properties on the London markeb. Tho area of bhe two mines combined is 60 acres, and as goldbearing reefa have been cub in each mine, tho flotation in London should not be a difficult matter. - WAITEKAURI NO. 2. The apecial meeting of shareholders in the above company called this morning lapsed for wanb of a quorum, and stands adjourned for one < week. Ib ia of paramounb importance thab share-, holders should be represented in order to authorise directors to amalgamate with an adjoining property. • : KINSBLLA'S FREEHOLD. Mr J.G. Ralph brought up a sample of stone from the Kinsella Freehold mine at Waitekauri yeaterday. The stone is on view at Mr Thos. Peacocke's, Shortlandatreeb. It shows gold freely throughout, WAITEKAURI G.M. COMPANY. The resulb of the past (our weeks' crushing from the Golden Cross section of the Waitekauri Company's mines was nob up to bhe usual average, as 153 tons of ore returned bullion valued ab £p3l. This givea an average value of £3 9a-5d per ton.
