RHODES OFFERS TO RESIGN.

KRUGER.

London, May 6. The •'"-Standard", says Mr Rhodes offers, if Mr Chamberlain desires, to retire from the control of the Chartered Company, and return to England forthwith ; also to resign his seat in the Privy Council.

The Cabinet is considering whether they shall call upon him to do so. It is also reported that Mr Rhodes and Mr Beit have resigned their positions in the Chartered Company.
