COROMANDEL MINING.
(FROM OUR OWN" CORRESPONDENT.)
Haukaki South. — The cablo which brought the news that all arrangements had practically been made respecting the aale of this mine on the London market was warmly received hero, as the general concensus of opinion among mining men ailalong bas been that this property is one of the best and most legitimate in the locality, and if properly worked and at lower levels. should develop into a valuable mine.
Welcome Find.—A crosecub has been started off the low level in a westerly direction with the objecb of driving up to the western boundary through entirely virgin country, which is" of an exellenb gold producing character. Already two leaders several inches in thickness have b&en intersected containing very promising quartz with good mineral indications, but so far no gold has been seen. Later on these leaders will be driven on as the channel of country through which they are running warrants their development.
