GOLD SHIPMENT.

Six boxea of gold, principally from Coromandel, were shipped oa Jan. 21 by the Manapouri for Sydney by the Bank of New Zealand for transhipment bo London. The »aiue of bhe bullion was £20,500. GOLD AT MARAETAI. For the last four months a private syndicate have had men engaged workine on a mine situated on properby belonging to Messrs' McGinty and Keen ab Maraobai Creek. This land has been leased by a syndicate represented by Messrs Wills and Riggers, and bhe result of the operations in bbc mine haa been the opening up of two levels on a reef 18ft wide. A telegram received from the manager is as follows:—" Gold seen in stone and dish prospects good. Colours frequently seen." COOLGARDIE SYNDICATE. The Commibbee. of the above syndicate hare agreed on the motion of Mr R. C: Greenwood, eeoonded by Mr Howard, to submit bhe following proposal to the shareholders' meeting to-morrow :—'*That a company be formed in 75,000 shares of 2a each, .50,000 shares to be allotted to the presenb shareholders in fully paid up shares, the balance of 25.000 shares to be offered to the presenb shareholders pro rata, 3d per share to be paid on application, 3d on allotmenb, the balance to be paid, if required, in calls nob to exceed 3d per month per share."
