WAITAIA.
Aboub 17^" pounds-of excellent good bearing specimen stone from the Waitaift mine was on view to-day ab the office of Mr W". H. Churton, the manager of the Company. Tho stone i 9 really first-ciass, showing broad bands of gold running righb through ib. The discovery is of importance, as tho stone is a beautiful blue rock, and being taken at a depth of 200 feet, goes to prove the richness of the Waitaia range ab the lowor loveln. On this property there is also a large white reef, and aba point 150 feet away from where the present specimeus were gob, stone showing dabs of gold was also obtained, thus proving tho length of the run of gold in that direction.
