Wellington, Saturday. The cricket match bebween Wellington and Canterbury, which was expaefced to lasb into Monday, came to a conclusion this evening, play being prolonged till twenty minutos paßb aix p.m. in order to finish it. The local men outplayed their opponenbn at all points, and secured a lead of 88 on the first) innings, and then disposed of Canterbury for 121. This left 34 to Red, and the order of going in was changed, with bhe resulb bhab ib cosb four wickeba to get the required number. The mabch proved the great weakness of the visitors' batting, and it was evident the team was really far from inberprovincial form. There were about 1,500 people preseob, and bobh weabher and wickeb were favourable, save for a little wind at times.
