TiMAEtr, this day. The firsb report on the standard examination of Catholic schools in bhe district, was presented by Inspector Gow to the Education Board to-day. In five schools with 701 on the rolls, 401 were presented in standards, and 282 passed. His general remarks state that the Timaru Boys' School passed a good examination; Waimate fairly good ; the Timaru Girls' School, Temuka, and Kerry town were not favourable on bhe whole.
