Allegkd Breaking and Entering.—Henry Benjamin Ramus Mosae and John Wallace were charged with having broken and entered the dwelling-bouse of one Lindeay Cooke, at Ellerslie, on the 16bh August, and stolen one revolver, one blanket, one kerchief, one gold brooch, and about 21b of bacon, ot the total value of £4.169.—Mr Collins (instructed by Mr Baume) appeared for Mosse. —Aβ the accused were arrested only yesterday afternoon, a remand was granted till Wednesday next.

Destitute Persons Act. — Frederick Philpott was charged with being in arrears with the payment of an order of 10s for the supporb of his wife, Ada Philpott, and child. Defendant made no Appearance. Mr Strathern, who appeared for the CharitAid Board, informed the Bench that the complainant was still alive, bub in a very low condition. Mr Northcrofb made an order for the payment of £6 Sβ forthwith, with the alternative, in default, of three months' imprisonment with hard labour.—Thomas Martin Smythe was charged with being £6 5a in arrears under an order for the support of hie h've children. Defendant made no appearance. Mr Strathern appeared for the Board, and said it was an extremely bad case.— The complainant, Margaret Symthe, deposed thab there was no excuse for defendant's neglect) to contribute towards the support of the children. He spent a good deal of his money in drink. Mr Northcroft made an order that defendant) must pay the whole amount in nrrear forthwith, or serve six months' with hard labour.
