GRAND ORANGE LODGE.

The half-yearly session of the ab.ove Grand Lodge was held in Aratapu, Northern Wairoa, on Thursday last, 4th inst, when there were representatives from about ten subordinate lodges, The Grandmaster, Rev. A. Peters, took the chair at 7.30 p.m., and the D.G.M., Bro. A. Stewart, occupied the vice-chair, while Rev, J. Blight acted as Grand Chaplain.

Correspondence from the Grand Lodges of Ireland, Canada and the United States waa received and dealt with, which shswed that the Institution throughout the world was never in a more flourishing condition. Matters affecting the working of the Institution were discussed, and. orderod to be carried into effect.

It> was arranged that the benefib fund commence from that date, and on the whole, the matters dealt with woro believed to be conducive to the progress of .the Institution. The session was closed at 12.30 a.m. on the morning of the sbh.

Supper was then served out in an adjoining room, and the usual loyal and patriotic toasts having been feiven and responded to, tho brethren separated, well pleased with their meeting.

On Friday evening, the sth, the brothren of No. 31, Arafcnpn, held their usual annual social, which was well attended, despite the inclement weather. Tho Grandmaster delivered a very appropriate address, and the programme—a musical one, was well rendered. This social is the chief attraction on the river, and all were well pleased with the entertainment. •
