COUNTRY ROAD BOARDS.

■Waujkil— The following were elected on Friday lasb as members of the Waiuku Road Board :—C. T. Barriball, W. Sanday, John Lowe, W. Fiavell, J.. L. West. For the Waipipi highway district, Messrs A. M. Barriball, J. McNaughboni John Crotby and A. Muir were -elected. ," ..'", Mahceakoi East. t The Road Board elected for the highway district consists of Messrs J. Snell, W. A.^Darrach, George Scandrett, James Lawrio, and Richard Goldsworthy. Mr J. Snell was elected Chairman. A vote of thanks was given to Mr John- Darracb, who retired from the Board on account of old age.

Omaha.—The' annual meeting of rate.payers'at Omaha was held in the local ballon May 7th, Mr Alex. Kempb presiding. . The Secretary. (Mr Savage).-.read the abstract) of receipts and expenditure for the year ending March 31sb. The receipts forbhe year bad amounted to. £104 14s 20 and the expenditure left a balance in '- the bank of £45 7s 4d. The assets totalled £132 15a lid and the liabilities £16 5s 4d, leaving,% credit' balance of £114 lQs 7d. The accounts were adopted and a vote of thanks was passed ttfbhe retiring Board. v :. • --...'

Wairoa.—Ab the annual ■ meeting of ratepayers hold in the Wairoa Hall on the 4th inst., Mr D, Crawford presiding, it was abated that the receipts for the last year totalled £939 6s 3d, thero being a balance in the Bank at present of £103 19s lid. The total assets amounted to £192 12s Id, and the liabilities to . £130 ss. The balance-sheet was adopted. It was resolved to take steps to clear all gorse, etc., from the public roads in the district. The new Board consists of: Messrs Henry Walsh, Samuel A. Brown, Colin Campbell, Patrick McGuire, and Daniel Crawford.
