ROAD BOARD ANNUAL MEETINGS.

Bombay.—Mr J. H. Parker presided ab fche meeting of ratepayers. The bala'nce-sheel sheet showed total receipbs, £226 13s 6Jd, including £6012 sod balance ab commencement; of the year, and £107 4s yjd rates received, -and:. Government, subsidy, £56 16s. . The expenditure Jefb a balance ot £6 la Hcl. The statement) of assets and liabilities showed the public debb of the district to be £5 9a 6d. The election of a Board resulted as follows :-rG. Balme, 53 : W. Bubbinaore; 32 > R. Gillon, 32; VV. Vince, 31 ; F. W. Manning, 24; John Sturgeon, 24;. W. Brown hill, 22; J. H, Parker^ 21. In the tie between Messrs Manning and Sturgeon the returning officer gave his casting ?ote in favour of Mr Manning. ■ - ■....' Maukit.— The annual meeting of ratepayers in this districb was presided over by Mr,W. T. Wrighb. The ' balance-sheeb showed total receipts £256 10s 3id, and the expenditure left a balance, in hand of £5 8s 4Jd. Reference was mado to the.Governmenfc grant of £200 towards the iormabion and metalling of the Patumahoe Road ; also, £100 granted for the Union Road. It was also stated that instead of £SOO,, as previously reported, beiug obtained, the full £1,000 loan as applied for has been granted bo the Board. ; Upper Mahurangi. —The balance-sheet of this dietricb a's submitted to bhe meeting was as follows : — Receipts for the year ended 31sb March, 1895: Balance from previous year, £12? 17s lOd • ra,tes, £203 3s 3d; Bubsidy, £41 10s sd; special grants, £250 ; other receipts, £49 3s Id : tobal, £671 14a 7d. MATAKOHE.^-The reeulb of . the Road Board election wtiß aB follows :—RiiSmith polled 42 votes; W. Angol, 39 ; James Ovens, 32; E. Pheasant, 28 ; R. Stirling, 26 ; G. Gallio, 23 ; E. Smith, 20 ; S. Smith, 15; and S. B. F. Cooksey, 14. The fireb five were declared to be duly elected.

Whangamabino;—The statement of accounts submitted at the ratepayers' aunuul meeting was as follows :—lncome : Rates, £178 Is l^d; "thirds," £110 9s lid; Government subsidy, £31 10s; total, £320 la o£d.
