Kirk, of Hawera, who attempted to abscond from the colony without) paying Mb creditors, and was sentenced to a term of imprisonment, applied for discharge. Judge Richmond said that though the bankrupb had been punished for broach of the Acb, he must take cognisance of his conduct. The application was refused. Kirk was informed he could renew ib after the lab of October nexb.
