CANTERBURY DEFEAT OTAGO,

Christchurch, this day.
The annual Association Football Tournament commenced yesterday at Park, when Canterbury, met ,and defeated Otago by 3 goals to 1. The* weather was dull and" cold, bub the ground was in fairly good order. Wilson, Maude, McLean, and Montgomery played splendidly throughout), and kopb goal excellently for Otago. Smith, Watson, O'Connor, and tho MacMillan Bros, were prominent all through. Canterbury will play Wellington on Saturday.
