The football match played afc the Tliamo3 yesterday between the Welling team'and a local Beam ended in the visitors winning by 5 points to 3. Wellington won tho toss. The-ground 'waa in a sloppy condition. Wynyard- captained the; visitors, and J. McGregor the Thames team. Mr Edmonds performed tho duties of^efere'ov and Messrs Christie (Thames) and "(Srant (Wellington) acted as lino umpires. 'The utmost good feeling orovailed throughout. In tho first spell, from a scrum, Mclvenzie broko away, and Coote, in attempting to gain possession Jof the leather, missed it, and Kelly, MeiKenzie and Campbell carrying on tho rush, succeeded in eluding the' local full-back, and Bennett secured a try'for Wellington. Campbell took the kick, and landed a goal. In the second spell, Brownleo, Johnson and Billings started a rush. Davidson, in attempting to stay progress, fell on tho ball, and Thames was awarded a penalty. - Paul made tho attempt with success. No other score took place. , , . . ' '.
